The food was simply exceptional sophisticated, beautifully presented, and every bite was a blissful delight to the palate. “ Enjoy fine dining while perched atop a rock at the mouth of the harbor in Nice. The octopus appetizer was great. It was fun watching the small boat sailors in the ocean outside the harbor. It was a bit rainy but there was a roof and the restaurant provided blankets so we stayed warm. ”

“ Le Plongeoir is a wellknown overwater dining experience by the seaside in Nice, France. Located across a walkway and on top of a tiny island, the restaurant affords a unique experience and pristine views of the Mediterranean waters. As a starter, the grilled octopus was wonderful. It was perfectly cooked to tender texture with no rubberiness. There was a good crisp exterior that complimented the smooth eggplant base. For the mains, the roasted sea bass was quite pleasant. The fish was light and flaky, and the polenta croquette was wonderfully crispy which paired quite well. We also ordered the gambas which were absolutely massive. There was about as much meat as a lobster would have! However their flavour was a bit subtle and the bisque was a bit salty. Still the dishes were enjoyable. The service here was definitely top notch. The staff are exceedingly polite and very attentive without being a bother. Overall, its a really great experience, especially on a warm day. The prices are a bit higher than some of the other restaurants but youre paying an understandable premium for the views and the memory. For us, it was worth it! ”
